Whey Pody was a puppy, we all liked to pet him. Therefore our little promising dog quickly wanted to be a master in the house. But soon he started to attend a dog preschool and later on also an elementary school in the near Kennel club Naklo, so his plan did not came out well.
Perfect pupil in preschool
Dog preschool is a course designed to educate the youngest dogs. It includes a lot of play and learning basic tricks, but excludes excercises that require more concentration. Dog owners learn how to properly train and teach their dog, while on the other hand, dogs get to know many new people and dogs of various breeds and sizes and are thus appropriately socialized.
Pody started to attend dog preschool when he was about six months old. The beginning of his schooling was hard, since he was already too spoiled and not enough socialized and did not bear to be fondled by strangers or to show them his teeth. But his training soon became worthwile. Pody’s behavior improved, he became a well socialized dog who enjoyed the company of and playing with other dogs. He learned some basics commands and lots of other tricks. Therefore, at the end of pre-schooling, in July 2007, Pody was one of the best students.
Very successful completion of basic training and obedience exam by B-Bh programme
Obedience exam by B-Bh programme is an exam for a dog companion with a test of his obedience in urban environment and includes an expert exam for a dog leader. This exam belongs to lower stage of schooling programmes, where dogs at least 15 months old, of all sizes, breeds or pedigrees can participate. This exam is conditional for all advanced schoolings in higher stages and programmes.
Completing the dog preschool was absolutely not an end of Pody’s schooling, since he is always full of energy and ready to learn. Therefore, he started to attend dog elementary school in September 2007. At first, he resisted the significantly more stringent training as he was accustomed to at preschool, but soon he adopted harder work, started to enjoy it and spared no pains to get the treats. He was an exemplary dog, but somewhere in the middle of schooling he unfortunately broke his back left paw. For this reason, he had to drop schooling and continue in the next season. Because of his good learning, he got an opportunity to do the obedience exam by B-Bh programme straight away (without previously doing the easier exam by A programme). Pody passed exam by B-Bh programme on June 21, 2008 with excellence (from 100 points, he reached 91 points).
Successful agility dog
Paralell to attending elementary school, Pody was also attending agility trainings, which gave him more obedience, tricks, guidance and especially attachment to his owner. Since agility became a very important part of Pody’s life, you can read more about his life with agility in Agility section.
